Description

This Astrobin Debut Object is a barred spiral galaxy located 100 million light years away in the constellation of Aquarius at a declination of -13 degrees.  It spans 3 arc-minutes in our apparent view, which corresponds to a diameter of 90,000 light years.  Our view of the disk is about half-way between edge-on and face-on.

Yellow dominates the core and disk.  The arms emanate from the end of the bar and quickly fragment after about 90 degrees of rotation.  The outer portion of the disk is diffuse.
